Deep Tissue Massages | Sydney
Closely related to, but not to be confused with, remedial massage therapy, our deep tissue massages use a firm techniques to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension and tightness.
It is not uncommon to feel a degree of discomfort during your deep tissue massage, and soreness 24-28 hours after your session. This is because higher degrees of pressure are used to intentionally break up muscle tension, adhesions, and scar tissue that exist within the deeper musculature.

Deep Tissue Massage Techniques:
-
Stripping: this involves the use of knuckles, thumbs, elbows and forearms to massage along your muscle fibres. With a combination of slow and sustained pressure, knots and problem areas are identified and targeted.
-
Friction: otherwise known as, cross-fibre massaging, this technique goes 'against the grain' of your muscle fibres to break up knots, release adhesion and allow muscles to realign in a healthy manner. Friction can be more uncomfortable than other techniques, so Sydney Body Envy ensures they work with every client to find the best solution.
-
Trigger Point: by identifying trigger points in specific areas of the body, knuckles, thumbs, or elbows are used to deliver concentrated pressure to the tissue underneath. Whilst it's not uncommon for discomfort to be felt, once the pressure is released relief can be felt immediately.
